The Marathon Course

The 42.195km course starts at the Grau Place (next to the church). The route will continue along the boardwalk towards the Avinida de Julio 28. Afterwards the course advances down the avenue to the oval, continuous left until it reaches the road to Jequetepeque. This is a straight road for 7 Km and ends in Jequetepeque. Two blocks after the town square in Jequetepeque, the course turns right and travels 6 Km to Huascar. this is the turn around point (13 Km.). The runners will return on the same route passing through Jequetepeque and turns right 3Km to Boca del Rio beach, the runners will return on the same route, return to Pacasmayo to the boardwalk at the Club Pacasmayo.

The course winds its way two blocks through town. At this point, the off-road portion begins and the El Faro lighthouse and the Pacific Ocean are in full view. The route winds its way below the El Faro Hotel and along the ocean. After passing by the lighthouse, the next 5 Km. of the route will be run on hard, flat desert surface. During the next 2.5 Km you will witness some of the most beautiful coastline that Peru has to offer. reaching the turn around point. The route then returns near the ocean. The course heads Pacasmayo parallel to what is known today as the Inca Road. This historic site was constructed and used in the 6th century A.D by the Pre Incan civilization known as the Moche Civilization.
